Updated Pomanders

Mom is making the pomanders for the wedding now, and has created her own twist for them.  I think they are awesome!

The Invitations

Here is a picture of the invitations I made with the help of Ryan and Rachael.  The back is just a cheap plain white invitation with a silver outline.  I glued some funky wrapping paper cut to fit on top of that, and then layered vellum with the invitation wording on top of that.  I then glued pink ribbon at the top.  I also glued a matching liner into the envelopes.  In order to save money, guests are RSVPing online.

Wedding To-Do's

I can't believe it's 8 weeks until the wedding.  All of a sudden, I feel like I have a whole lot to do. I'm making a list to help myself feel more sane!

-figure out boutonnieres for the guys
-design and make table assignments and numbers
-make wedding map for guests
-make info folders/gift bags for guests
-send e-newsletter to guests 1-2 weeks before
-get wedding shoes
-jewelry for wedding day?
-decorate veil
-finish getting gifts for bridesmaids
-get something to put the postcards in for the guestbook

I'm sure I'll think of more, time to go buy a wipe board so I can put lines through this stuff!

Tissue Paper Pomanders

I did it! Yesterday while snowed in I started on the pomanders for the wedding. It took 3 hours to do one of them....yes, three hours.  However, this ended up huge since I used a 6" ball. I think I am going to go return the rest of the 6" balls and get smaller ones...maybe do one more 6" and put those two at the front of the aisle, with the other 4 being 3" balls the rest of the way down the aisle.  Anyways, here's the picture of the final masterpiece, haha....

I want to get some really thick bright colored ribbon for the balls in different colors to help the white stand out more.  I just used some thin blue ribbon I had on hand for right now.  Since our walls are white, I hung up a bright blanket behind it so you can see the ball better.

Flowers

Last weekend, Rachael and I went to Joann's to look at fake flowers for the wedding day bouquets. We ended up buying several stems of bright pink, white, and orangey pink ones, along with a pom pom looking stem just because i loved it. After pulling each stem we bought apart into single flowers and leaves, we reconstructed them into bouquets for the bridesmaids and a bouquet for me to use. Around the stems are bright pink ribbon to hide the very haphazard tape that holds everything together. Pictures to come as soon as I can find my camera charger...

Final Dresses for Wedding

It has been a while since I last posted. Below are the dresses we all decided on for the wedding, we're doing all different colors instead of just pink. I am really excited about the way it looks together!

From left to right is Mermaid (Rachael), Guava (Lesly), my dress in the middle, Palm Beach Coral (Megan) and Sangria (Kathy). Dresses courtesy of http://www.davidsbridal.com/

Ryan decided to go with black suits for the guys with black ties. I think he may decide to do the skinny tie thing, but not sure yet. He is also thinking about getting a derby hat to wear (cute!) and a vest from Goodwill.
